My topic tonight is sarcasm! :)
I hate sarcasm. SO much! Yet i use it all the time, who doesn't? My problem is, I sound sarcastic when i am actually being serious, and sound serious when i'm actually being sarcastic.
One day i was walking to my car after a cross country meet. This guy walks by, and he has a HUGE.ASS.FRO. Like, i have never seen a fro this big. I proceeded to tell the dude how fro-licious i thought his fro was. "THATS THE COOLEST FRO EVER! ITS SO BIG! WOW!" -Meredith and my mom gave me this look like i was the devil. They were like Darby, shut up, you're being mean! ...i was being serious guys. Really. And then whenever i try to joke around with people they don't catch on and think i'm being offensive or actually want to do whatever i'm saying. NO. Puh-lease. Annnywayss, i feel like this isnt my most interesting post, but fuck that, its 1:15! Anyways though, I also hate when i say something that truly is funny, but the way i tell the story just doesn't quite do the trick. Its like trying to tell this AWESOME dream to someone, but when you actually put it into words, it sounds lame as HELL. Thats what it compares to. :'( Anyways, the worst kind of sarcasm is love-sarcasm. You may be asking yourself right now, what the heckk is love sarcasm? It is any type of sarcasm in the realm of relationships, crushes, friends vs. enemies. anything involving the liking or loving of someone or something. Like "I LOVE broccoli"-i may be sounding sarcastic there, but i really do like broccoli. Gotchaa! I have seen love sarcasm very commonly in my brothers age group. Maybe him and his friends are just assholes, i don't know. But either way, they will tell a girl that they think is unnatractive, uncool, weird, un-dateable, that they would go out with her, or lead her on, and it makes me want to drop kick them to the moon. I also want to drop kick a multitude of little kids. But thats a story for another sleepless night. :) Well, this is it!
